Why I founded Blackthorn Bridal

I grew up with a love of makeup, a wild imagination, and a desire to make people feel good. I didn’t know that those three things could be combined together until I quit college to get my esthetician license and start my makeup business.

I believed that makeup should compliment your natural beauty, enhance your aesthetic, and create the vibe you want- without looking or feeling like a mask. That the experience of having makeup applied should be just as enjoyable and memorable as the finished product is. Weddings can be one of the most wonderful but stressful experiences- and I believed that touch is healing and grounding, so why wouldn’t we want that on our wedding day?

From there, I realized I wanted to combine the benefits of high end skincare and relaxation of a spa, with the fun, creative experience of designing and executing the perfect bridal makeup look. And once I realized that- why stop at makeup?

Now a little bit about me!

• I was a dorky, vampire loving homeschool girl who grew up to be a dorky, vampire loving esthetician and makeup artist.

• I’ve 5 animals (2 adorable toddlers and 3 adorable rescue furbabies.)

• I’m a huge lover of The Office, reading, writing novels, and oldies music (Motown and 70s r&b are my jam!)

• Odds are, by the time we meet, I’ll have added a few more piercings and changed my hair like 5 times. Don’t get caught up on the picture.

• I’m definitely ‘the mom’ friend, and it comes on handy when my brides have the butterflies on their wedding day.

And that’s my summary! I have a feeling we’ll vibe pretty well.
